Cape Town – A Cape Town mother is desperately seeking the safe return of her two-year-old daughter, who was allegedly kidnapped by her father and grandmother and taken to KwaZulu-Natal, a report said on Tuesday.
According to IOL, the mother, Anesha Adams, had a protection order against her ex-boyfriend but wanted her daughter to have a relationship with her father.
On May 14, she dropped her daughter, Crystelda Dernice Oliver, off at her father’s ome in Highbury Park in Kuils River. She last spoke to her on her second birthday on May 17.
“I took her to see her father. I grew up without my dad, and I didn’t want that for her.
“The protection order I had was for abuse, and at the time, the magistrate ruled he no longer had parental rights.

“I last spoke to her on Wednesday, May 17, on her second birthday. The plan was for her to spend her birthday with her dad,” the report quoted Adams as saying.
When Adams went to her ex’s residence on the day of her daughter’s planned birthday party, she discovered he had moved and left for Durban, the report said.
Adams filed a kidnapping case with the police, but they were initially unhelpful, stating that her protection order was no longer valid.
However, Adams confirmed with the courts that the order was still in place and a warrant for arrest had been issued.
The police have since contacted the grandmother, who confirmed they were in Durban with the child and agreed to hand her over at a police station on Thursday.
The report said that Adams is, however, concerned about the handover and her safety as she plans to go to Durban alone.
