Cape Town — Management at Cape Town International Airport have made a considerate effort to remove 3 000 families living within the airport vicinity.
During a meeting held in this week, it was the first one between management and the informal settlements with new Mayco member, Carl Joshua Pophaim, and they stated there was excitement to pick up from where they left off with the Symphony Way Development Corridor housing project.
The Symphony Way Development Corridor Housing project is set to resume in the first quarter of 2024 and the aiport is excited to serve our communities with pride.

Management said the new move would enable development and rehabilitation and the airport, in partnership with the City of Cape Town, said they had conducted a successful meeting with the informal communities, EWN reported.
Some of the areas included in the relocation plans includes Blikkiesdorp, Freedom Farm, and Malawi camp. The airport also stated that only qualifying families would benefit from the RDP housing project.
The motivating reasons behind the new project is that more informal settlements have emerged, posing a serious threat to safety and operations.
