Cape Town – A Johannesburg businesswoman and her bodyguard were reportedly wounded following a shooting at a crèche in Bedfordview on Tuesday.
The businesswoman was allegedly dropping off her child at the crèche when she was attacked by the gunman while in her car, reports said.
Police are investigating two cases of attempted murder, reported IOL.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the businesswoman was accosted by the gunman who shot at her while she was inside the school yard, the report said.
“The other suspect/s shot the owner of the private security company who had parked his car outside the nursery school.

“It is alleged that the owner of the private security company was escorting the businesswoman during the time of the shooting.” the report quoted Masondo as saying.
Although the motive behind the shooting is not known, it is alleged the woman dropped an older child at another school prior to the shooting, News24 reported.
According to a source close to the victims, the woman was shot three times while the bodyguard was shot five times.
“They are in hospital with bullet wounds to their upper body,” the report quoted.
Kaya959 alleged that the woman is reportedly the wife of a notorious kidnapping syndicate kingpin who was arrested and remains in prison with bail denied.
The report alleged that she has been linked to an Ethopian national accused of multiple counts of human trafficking and kidnapping.
