Cape Town – The family of businessman Mfundo Gcaba, implicated in the murder case of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, has voiced their support for him, rejecting any insinuations of his involvement in the crime.
According to EWN, despite allegations that Gcaba deposited a significant amount of money into the bank account of one of the accused, the family, known for their taxi business in KwaZulu-Natal, asserted that authorities had not contacted Gcaba and refuted any implication of wrongdoing on his part.
Gcaba’s family justified the R800000 transaction he made into the account of Mziwethemba Gwabeni, one of the accused in the AKA case, asserting that it was for business reasons.
Mandla Gcaba, speaking on behalf of the family, said that the financial transaction between Mfundo and Gwabeni was solely for business purposes, according to a statement released on Sunday.

“It is important to note that the financial transaction between him [Mfundo] and Mr Gwabeni were purely for business purposes,” read the statement.
The family emphasised their willingness to cooperate with law enforcement but urged for a respect of the judicial process before further updates are provided to the public.
“I think once the court process has unfolded and there are new news and developments then maybe it will be appropriate for further updates to the public. For now, we are conformed by the sub-judice manner of the matter, let’s not run parallel processes,” the report quoted the family as saying in a statement.
