Cape Town – A woman was recently robbed of her handbag and cellphone in the Pietermaritzburg city centre.
CCTV footage captured the incident, where a white car pulled up next to her as she walked on the pavement.
A man got out of the car and, along with other suspects, swiftly stole her handbag before fleeing in a parked vehicle.
Onlookers and the victim chased after the getaway vehicle, unaware that the white car, which had brought the robber, was parked nearby.
A fortnight ago, a woman named Sandy-Lee Ward from Bluff had her handbag stolen from her car while she was waiting for a boom gate to open at a shopping center’s exit.
Sandy-Lee Ward pursued the thief and used her car to collide with him.
The 28-year-old man, now hospitalised under police supervision, is slated to appear in court on Friday.
