Johannesburg – The search for missing Pretoria man Eric Jones, 33, ended tragically when his body was found on Saturday morning, just 300 metres from where his locked vehicle was discovered in Diepsloot.
“Eric Jones has been found dead some 300 metres from where his abandoned car was found in Diepsloot, north of JHB. Police are investigating,” anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee wrote in a post on X.

Eric was last seen in Pretorius Park on Thursday afternoon, and later seen on surveillance footage at Menlyn Maine Casino, leaving alone around 4:00 am on Friday, Pretoria Rekord reported, citing friends.
His phone went off shortly after a WhatsApp chat with a friend at 16:35, the reprot said.
His abandoned car, containing all his belongings, was found later in Diepsloot.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his mysterious death.
