Cape Town – The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) has confirmed that the body of an infant was found washed up on Clifton 3rd Beach in Cape Town on August 24.
The discovery was made by a member of the public, who alerted authorities.
“On arrival on the scene, the unidentified decomposed body of an infant was secured on the beach for Police detectives before being taken into the care of Police and Government Health Forensic Pathology Services,” NSRI said.
Police have opened an inquest and are seeking information from the public to assist in the case.
