Cape Town – The body of a crew member who went missing after a fire broke out on a Shayamanzi luxury houseboat in Jozini, northern KwaZulu-Natal was reportedly found on Friday.
According to Times Live, Bongani Nyawo, 36, and five German tourists jumped ship when the Shayamanzi houseboat caught fire.
Nyawo’s body was found at the spot where the tragedy occurred, the report said.

“The family members were present when the body of the deceased was recovered and it was positively identified by the brother to the deceased,” the report quoted the police as saying.
The incident happened last week on Saturday, with the houseboat company confirming at the time that one guest who has since been identified as German tourist Michael Mirschel, 64, and a crew member perished in the blaze aboard Shayamanzi I.
The South African Maritime Safety Authority (Samsa) said the luxury houseboat was reportedly on a two-night cruise on the Jozini Dam with four crew and five passengers when the incident occurred.
“Samsa, with other stakeholders including emergency services, will continue to monitor the situation and update the public as and when new information becomes available,” Samsa said.
