Cape Town – Plettenberg Bay reportedly closed all of its beaches after a shark killed one person at Sanctuary Beach on Tuesday.
According to Times Live, at 14:09, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) received a report from an eyewitness about a deadly shark attack involving a swimmer.
“NSRI rescue swimmers responded directly to the scene and 2 NSRI rescue craft were launched. On arrival on the scene the body of an adult male, believed to be a local man, was located and recovered from the water, at the back surf line, onto an NSRI rescue craft. The body was brought to the NSRI Plettenberg Bay rescue station.

“An NSRI doctor, WC Government Health EMS and the SA Police Services responded,” said NSRI in a statement.
The family of the deceased were informed and were receiving counselling.
All beaches in Plettenberg Bay were closed by the Bitou Municipality.
