Cape Town – Limpopo police are on a manhunt after a group of armed assailants robbed four student nurses at Jane Furse Hospital’s residential premises.
The incident, occurring on Friday last week, involved the suspects threatening the medical staff with firearms and fleeing with various items, including cellphones, notebooks, groceries, clothes, and cash, valued at approximately R70,000.
“Police reports indicated that a group of unknown suspects armed with firearms, went to Jane Furse Hospital at the employees’ residential houses and robbed four student nurses of their belongings, on Friday May 10, at around 3.30pm,” said police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.
He added: “The suspects fled the scene with items including two iPhone cellphones, two Huawei notebooks, one Samsung Galaxy cellphone, groceries, clothes and an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbers, wearing masks, also tied up a security guard during the robbery.
Police have launched an investigation and registered a case of house robbery to apprehend the suspects.
