Cape Town – ANC Member of Parliament and former cabinet minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson has died.
She was 59.
The announcement was made by Parliament through a poster on Monday night.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved comrade, Tina Joemat-Pettersson,” read the statement.
Joemat-Pettersson was serving as the chairperson of the police study group at the time of her death.

She served as minister of energy from 25 May 2014 to 31 March 2017 and was the minister of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries from 2009 to 2014.
