Cape Town – A 34-year-old man who is an ANC MP has reportedly been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife.
The 31-year-old woman was found in a pool of blood, stabbed to death at the couple’s marital home, reports said.
The man was in Klerksdorp on Friday nearly two months after the incident happened, reported The Citizen.
The report said that the man could not be named until he appeared in court.
National police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, confirmed the arrest, the report said.
“The incident happened on 27 November 2022, at the home of the suspect in Kanana,
“The suspect faces a charge of murder and will appear before the Orkney Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 January 2023,” the report quoted Mathe as saying.

IOL reported that once news of the woman’s murder got out, family and friends allegedly pointed to the husband as the suspect.
The report said before the woman was found dead, she had posted on social media about GBV.
“GBV is real, if I wake up killed or any of my family members pls don’t look far,” her post reportedly read.
