Cape Town – A Mozambican national, who was arrested in connection with multiple kidnappings in South Africa and Mozambique on Saturday is set to appear in court on Monday.
Police said the ransom demands for the kidnapping cases came from Mozambique.
The alleged 50-year-old kidnapping kingpin was arrested at an upmarket estate in Centurion by multidisciplinary team led by members of the Trilateral Planning Cell(TPC), police said in a statement.
According to spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe the team was acting on a warrant of arrest and extradition request by the government of Mozambique.

“In his possession, the team seized a 9mm licenced firearm, 14 9mm cartridges, five cellphones, multiple bank cards for South African banks as well as multiple SA and Mozambican SIM cards,” Mathe said.
Mathe said Esmael Malude Ramos Nangy was expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday where an extradition process will immediately commence.
