The suspects were charged with two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of stolen property and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, the report said.
Security was tightened in the court, as angry community members protested outside, demanding no bail for the suspects, reported TimesLive.
Community leader, Lizzy Sithole said that members of the Alexandra community were disappointed that it was South African youth that terrorised them.
“I didn’t expect that we could be terrorised by local children… I expected foreigners to be behind this. Not SA children,” Sithole was quoted as saying.
