Durban – A light aircraft made an emergency landing on the beach near Blue Lagoon in Durban on Saturday morning.
The plane was en route to Virginia Airport, a few kilometers north of the city, Arrive Alive said in a post on social media.
Emergency services, including ALS Paramedics and the eThekwini Fire Department, responded to the scene.
According to SABC News, paramedics assessed the occupants, and no injuries were reported.
“Paramedics met with the eThekwini Fire Department and made their way to the closest access point and then walked for some kilometres to gain access to the place where the incidents had occurred. It’s believed that the plane somehow made an emergency landing for reasons unknown; however, all occupants sustained no injuries. ALS paramedics attended the scene together with all necessary authorities,” the report quoted ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson as saying.
The cause of the emergency landing remains unknown, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
