Cape Town – ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba says his party is not yet part of the DA’s moonshot pact as announced by leader John Steenhuisen on Saturday.
“ActionSA is not yet part of this moonshot pact that John Steenhuisen has spoken about.
“… He (Steenhuisen) has not responded positively to some of the issues that we’ve raised that we feel as ActionSA are critical before we can proceed to the next level.
“So we were surprised yesterday to be mentioned as having officially accepted… Let us ensure that this project is not seen to be a DA led pact,” Mashaba said during an interview with eNCA.
On Saturday, Steenhuisen revealed in an address broadcast live on the party’s social media platforms that five political party leaders, including ActionSA, had thus far agreed to work towards a “moonshot pact” with his party.
DA has been calling for opposition parties to put aside their differences and join forces to unseat the ANC at the 2024 national elections. and to prevent a “doomsday coalition” between the ANC and the EFF.
The following are the five leaders who agreed to attend a Moonshot Pact National Convention, according to Steenhuisen
