Cape Town – The seven men accused of the murder of Zimbabwean national Elvis Nyathi are reportedly expected back in the Randburg Magistrates Court, in Johannesburg, on Monday.
This is after they made a brief appearance in the lower court on Friday for legal representation.
They face charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Nyathi was killed in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, on 7 April 2022, allegedly by a group of attackers.
Migrants were allegedly being accused of committing crimes in the area.

According to EWN, the seven accused are expected to apply for bail on Monday when they return to the dock.
“On Friday, accused number three delayed court proceedings as he requested time to get legal representation from legal aid,” the report said.
News24 reported the seven men, cannot be named, filmed or photographed until an identity parade has been conducted
The report quoted the National Prosecuting Authority’s Phindi Mjonondwane as saying on Friday: “Investigations are ongoing. As the State, we are busy preparing information for the bail hearing. Among the information that the investigating officers are collating if the nationalities of the accused, profiling whether they have pending vases as well as convictions.”
Although 14 arrests had initially been made, the State was confident that the seven men before the court were the correct accused, the report said.
