Cape Town – Police in Mpumalanga have reportedly launched a manhunt after a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death by another man while sitting in his car at the McDonald’s drive-thru in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga.
Reports indicated that the incident occurred on Friday morning around 04:20 at Highveld Mall
Although the reason for the stabbing remained unknown, it was alleged that the two men had a food dispute over a food order.
According to News24, police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the two men, who did not know each other, were at the McDonald’s drive-thru when a dispute over a food order began.
“Mohlala said the suspect got out of his red VW Golf, walked over to where the victim sat in his vehicle, and allegedly stabbed him once in the chest.,” the report said.
Soon after the incident, the suspect reportedly abandoned his car and ran away from the scene.

The 26-year-old man was declared dead on the scene by paramedics, The South African reported.
“Anyone with information regarding the murder suspect can contact the investigating officer Lieutenant Colonel Jurie Steyn on 0826008529 on or the national crime stop number on 08600 10111,” the report quoted Mohlala as saying.
Last month, a 51-year-old man was reportedly shot dead inside Mugg & Bean at the Christians Village Shopping Centre, KwaZulu-Natal.
According to IOL, the suspect, 49, entered the Mugg & Bean restaurant and sat at the same table as the deceased.
An argument ensued between the two.
“During an argument the suspect drew a firearm and fired shots at the victim. He sustained gunshot wounds to the head and was declared dead at the scene,” the report quoted police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala as saying.
The suspect fled the scene but later turned himself in at the Hillcrest police station.
