Cape Town – A 26-year-old man was arrested for the alleged murder of a 20-year-old man during the early hours of Sunday, January 01 in Pearston, Eastern Cape.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, the victim was stabbed.
“It is alleged that at about 03:30, the lifeless body of the victim was found lying in Steenbokkie Street, Nelsig (Pearston) with a stab wound in the upper body,” Nkohli said.

Nkohli said the process of tracking the alleged murderer was a swift one.
“A team of detectives followed up some leads, and few hours later the suspect was nabbed for murder.”
The suspect is due to appear in the Somerset East Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 04, 2023.
