Cape Town – Two teenagers have been reportedly arrested for the brutal murder of a 26-year-old University of the Free State medical student after his body was found with stab wounds in a river at Nhlazatshe in Mpumalanga.
Wiseman Mthunzi Zwane’s body was found on July 6 by residents who then alerted police, reports said.
This was after the family and community members launched a search for Mthunzi who had been last seen on July 2, Daily Sun reported.
The report said that the deceased was allegedly stabbed 16 times.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a police investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect on July 8, reported News24.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy was under police guard in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by community members prior to his arrest, the report said.
The 18-year-old suspect appeared at the Chief Albert Luthuli Magistrate’s court on Monday, charged with murder and the matter was postponed to July 19 for a formal bail application, reported IOL.
The report said that the minor suspect was yet to appear in court.
Police ruled out the possibility of more arrests as the investigation continued.
