Cape Town – Police are reportedly searching for a 12-year-boy who went missing from a children’s home in George, Western Cape about a month ago.
Zoan van Zyl was staying at Môreson Children’s Home and has been missing since February 20, according to George Herald.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said that the child went missing after his homeless mother visited him on the day but left, as it was outside visiting hours.
Zoan van Zyl (12) was last seen 20 February 2022.

“It cannot be ruled out that they reunited later on and disappeared,” Pojie was quoted as saying.
Pojie said that Van Zyl had been placed at the children’s home via a court order since his mother was unable to provide proper care for him.
All efforts by the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) to find the child have been in vain, reported Algoa FM.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer at 044 803 4621 or 082 522 1050, or Crime Stop at 08600 10111
