Step forward

The next phase of a US$10 billion green hydrogen deal in the Namibian desert is under way.

The feasibility and implementation plan to guide the project was signed on Friday, according to Reuters.

The project – a partnership between the Namibian government and German-based Hyphen Hydrogen Energy – is to be set up in the Tsau //Khaeb National Park in the Namib desert.

Engineering News reports that the plant is expected to produce 2 million tons of green ammonia a year for regional and global markets when it starts producing at full capacity before 2030.
