Clifton Road. That’s the name of South Africa’s most expensive street. Situated in Cape Town, overlooking the famed Clifton beaches, the average value of deed transactions per house sits at around ZAR49 million.

In fact, research carried out by solutions company Lightstone Property, which looks at the past year’s average sales transfer prices calculated per street across the country’s major provinces, found that four of the five most valuable streets are in the Mother City – in Clifton, Fresnaye, Llandudno and Bishopscourt to be exact.

According to a Business Tech report, South Africa’s Gauteng province accounts for many of the top addresses too. However, the only non-Cape Town street in the top five is 4th Road in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, where houses have an average value of ZAR34 million.
