Ethiopia is embarking on extensive road and power-supply projects valued at around US$7 billion.
The East African nation’s Public-Private Partnerships Office announced plans to launch three new road and 13 energy programmes this fiscal year, as reported by Reuters.
The highway projects, expected to cost a combined US$1.1 billion, include a 125 km road between Adama and Awash, another 72 km road between Awash and Maeso, and a 160km road connecting Maeso and Dire Dawa.
Details on how the projects will be funded have yet to be confirmed.
