Nigeria has maintained its position as the world’s most mobilised country, with mobile consumption increasing from 40% last year to 74% in 2017, as reported by Ventures Africa.
According to a study by mobile advertising platform Twinpine Networks, Nigeria experiences 81% of mobile traffic, compared to India (79%) and South Africa (78%).
With 91.5 million unique mobile users, the West African country also has the highest number of multi-sim phones globally (66%), ahead of Bangladesh (63%) and Tanzania (53%).
The report also shows that 63% of all m-commerce orders in Nigeria happen via mobile, while 71.5% of Nigerians use a mobile banking app and 47.3% use their phones to purchase airtime.
