Ghana is moving towards becoming a prominent technology hub with a plan confirmed for it to host a one-of-a-kind data centre.

Africa Business Communities reports that the data centre will provide up to 30 MW of data load

The project is a collaboration between Africa Data Centres and the US Development Finance Agency (DFA), which will see Africa Data Centres mobilise funds from the DFA’s existing US$300 million financing commitment to the region. The two organisations signed an agreement in October reaffirming their commitment to the project.

‘With a youthful and dynamic population, a government that provides support, and a thriving startup ecosystem, Ghana is well-positioned to emerge as a prominent technology hub within the next five years,’ says Hardy Pemhiwa, president and CEO of Cassava Technologies, the parent company of Africa Data Centres .
