South Africa, France, and the World Health Organisation (WHO) are set to make a joint announcement on Covid-19 vaccines on Monday, the presidency says in a statement.
“The briefing will focus on the establishment of the first messenger RNA technology transfer hub for Covid-19 vaccinations, located in South Africa,” the presidency said.
The announcement will take place at 17:00.

This comes after the health department said the country’s death toll reached 58 702 on Sunday following the death of 112 more people.
The total number of new infections stood at 13 155 over the past 24-hour cycle, with the total number of positive cases now at 1 823 319.
Gauteng continued to bear the brunt of the virus, registering 66% of the 13 155 new cases recorded.
