Pietermaritzburg — Royal AM Football Club owner and millionaire Shauwn Mkhize, better known as MaMkhize, allegedly had the club’s facilities broken into.
According to reports, the criminals entered the clubhouse, known as the Royal Ranch, and robbed the players, as well as the members of the ladies’ team, The South African said.
One source revealed that a group of armed men reportedly held the players hostage while their cell phones and TV sets were stolen.
“The robbery did not just happen to the girls, it happened to everyone in the compound. All the players stay on the farm and they were affected psychologically by the incident,” another source said.

Royal AM team manager, Richard Makhoba, denied the reports, saying he was was not informed of the incident. He was away with the team for their league match against Polokwane City and refused to comment on something that did not happen.
“I think it’s very sensitive and if it happened, I would have known about it,” Makhoba said.
It was reported that the suspects hid their loot and escaped but upon their return, were cornered by neighbouring dogs. They were arrested and taken to Pietermaritzburg Police Station.
