Cape Town – One soldier was killed, while two others were left injured after a shooting incident in Atteridgeville, Pretoria on Saturday, a statement from the South African National Defence confirmed.
According to reports, the three soldiers were off duty and out of uniform at the time the incident occurred.
The soldiers were transported to 1 Military Hospital in Thaba Tshwane for further treatment.
According to Brigadier General Andries Mokoena Mahapa, police are looking into the matter.
“Currently, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating the incident, and the deceased’s name will be confirmed once the next of kin has been notified,” Mahapa said.
