Cape Town – Two suspects have reportedly been arrested after they were allegedly found in possession of a BMW 1-series hijacked from Orlando Pirates forward Vincent Pule.
The two men, aged 32 and 40 were also found with unlicenced AK-47 ammunition, reports said.
They were arrested at a house in Riverlea, Western Johannesburg on Friday.
“Following the hijacking of Orlando Pirates soccer player Vincent Pule on Sunday, July 31, 2022, in the south of Johannesburg, a team comprising of JMPD K9, SAPS Johannesburg central trio detectives and Mondeor trio tracing were working tirelessly in solving the case and recovering the hijacked vehicle, a black BMW 1-series.

“On Friday, August 12, 2022, the team followed up on information, which led them to a house in Riverlea, where two males were found on the premises,” IOL quoted Joburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla as saying.
Pirates’ media officer Thandi Merafe had previously confirmed the incident involving Pule.
“The ordeal happened and the player is safe. I cannot give more details on the incident until investigations are concluded,” Mafe said as per Daily Sun.
The suspects were linked to several hijackings in the city and will appear in court soon.
