Cape Town — Companies across South Africa are stepping up to mark Women’s Month in August.
Ride-hailing app Bolt, for example, has launched the #BoltRoadToEquality initiative to support women-owned businesses throughout the month. Bizcommunity reports that the company is offering 10 000 free rides, each valued at R50, to establishments owned by women nationwide. This initiative aims to boost visibility and support for these businesses.
The initiative also intends to create greater visibility and support for women-owned businesses, cultivating an environment in which women can thrive.
“We are proud to celebrate Women’s Month by supporting women-owned establishments and honouring the incredible women who have shaped our history. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women. By providing free rides to women-owned businesses, we hope to create lasting impact and inspire future generations,” said Sandra Buyole, regional PR manager at Bolt.
