Winch Energy is set to raise at least $2.1 million to help fund renewable energy technology in Sierra Leone and Uganda, a report says.
According to ESI Africa, the crowdfunding campaign will run over the next two years
“Winch Energy has already received investment from partner ITOCHU EuropePLC and is opening crowdfunding alongside this raise to secure additional funding for new projects and future expansion,” the report said.
Winch Energy is a global, off-grid energy developer and technology integrator, focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, the company says on its website.
“We focus on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia… We currently operate in five countries across Africa, with two key projects under construction in Sierra Leone and Uganda, which will provide over 6 600 connections, benefiting over 150 000 people,” it says
