Cape Town – South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards (Satma)-winning singers, the Qwabe Twins Viggy and Virginia have been applauded by their fans following their participation in this year’s Zulu Reed Dance (Umkhosi Womhlanga) in KwaZulu-Natal.
The traditional ceremony celebrates young girls’ purity and promotes celibacy until marriage.
Taking to their Instagram page, the twins announced their participation, sharing a picture of themselves dressed in yellow and white traditional wear.
They captioned the picture: “#Emhlangeni”.

Their fans took to the comments section to compliment them on their traditional wear and expressed how proud they were of the twins for choosing to remain pure.
Thembelihlelihle Mkhiwe wrote: “What an inspiration, Am so proud of you.”

The Reed Dance was hosted at Enyokeni Royal Palace in Nongoma over the weekend.
