Cape Town – A horrific video of an accident that claimed the lives of two people in the Eastern Cape is circulating on social media.
The video shows a vehicle spinning out of control, crashing into a pole then flipping in the air before coming to a dusty standstill.
According to ArriveAlive, a third person was seriously injured in the accident, which occurred on Caledon Street in Kariega (previously known as Uitenhage).
“It is alleged that at about 07:24, the driver of a Toyota Yaris lost control of the vehicle, smashed into a concrete pole, somersaulted, hit two pedestrians before coming to a halt,” said ArriveAlive.

The driver, 36, died on impact while a 51-year-old pedestrian was fatally wounded.
Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu confirmed the accident that happened on Saturday morning, reported The Citizen.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
