Cape Town – Springbok captain Siya Kolisi seems to be recovering well from knee surgery, as he provided a positive update on his progress.
Kolisi underwent the operation in Cape Town after sustaining the injury during a game for the Sharks against Munster.
The South African Rugby Union had previously stated that they would monitor his recovery.
In a video shared on Instagram and captioned Day 17, Kolisi is seen exercising on a stationary bike without a knee brace, indicating his high spirits.
However, it remains uncertain when he will return to action, and he is likely to miss the start of the Test season and the Rugby Championship.
Kolisi is in a race against time to be fit for the Rugby World Cup, scheduled to take place in France from September to October.
The South African squad for the World Cup will be announced on August 8th.
