Cape Town – A severe storm coupled with strong winds wreaked havoc in parts of KwaZulu-Natal killing one person and leaving several others injured on Monday.
The storm caused electrical problems, structural damage and road closures while some residents were displaced.
According to the uMhlathuze Municipality, on Tuesday City of uMhlathuze Mayor Xolani Ngwezi and a team from disaster management were on the ground to assess the damage caused by the “severe storm and strong winds”.
“One person has been reported dead for now and few others injured. The mayor is in communication with the family of the deceased,” the municipality said.
