Cape Town – The United States has identified only 100 Afrikaners for potential relocation under a programme initiated by President Donald Trump.
According to a New York Times report, US teams in Pretoria are reviewing over 8,000 applications out of a reported 70,000.
The initiative, called “Mission South Africa,” is based on claims — widely seen as disinformation — that Afrikaner farmers are under attack.

US officials have set up ad-hoc refugee centres focused solely on white Afrikaner farmers, with security escorts provided for meetings.
An update on long-term resettlement plans is expected next month.
The programme, rolled out in phases, has reviewed over 8,200 resettlement requests and identified 100 Afrikaners for potential refugee status, the report said.
Security escorts have been provided for interviews, and US officials in South Africa are expected to finalise long-term resettlement strategies by mid-April.
The initiative comes as the US restricts entry for other refugees, including those from Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Syria.
