Cape Town – Rising music sensation Tyla received exciting news on Thursday, as the Soul Train Awards announced their list of nominees, which included the talented singer in the coveted “Best New Artist” category.
Tyla’s remarkable journey in the music industry, marked by her signing with the prestigious US label Epic Records in 2021, has now earned her recognition in one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, Times Live reported.
The Soul Train Awards, known for honouring the best artists and recognising the next generation of promising talents, select their nominees through a rigorous process involving a voting academy of music industry insiders, performers, and presenters.
Tyla’s nomination alongside fellow artist Ayra Starr is a testament to her exceptional musical talent and the impact she has made in the industry.
The highly-anticipated awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California, with the premiere set for November 26 at 8 pm on BET and BET Her, promising a night of celebration and recognition for the music industry’s best.
In a recent interview with Kanal 5 Sverige, Tyla shared her ambitious aspirations and vision for the future. She expressed her desire to become one of Africa’s biggest pop stars and serve as an inspiration to young people worldwide.
“I really want to be the biggest pop star, and I want the biggest pop star to be from Africa. I just see myself on the biggest stages, winning the Grammys, collaborating with the likes of Drake and Rihanna. I remember being very young and watching these people on TV, so I would really love to be that person for other young kids, especially from Africa. I just want to be an example that it could happen for us,” Tyla said.
Her nomination for the Best New Artist category at the Soul Train Awards is not only a recognition of her outstanding talent but also a stepping stone toward realizing her dreams of becoming a global pop sensation and inspiring future generations.
Her journey in the entertainment industry is one that holds promise and potential for even greater success in the years to come.
