Cape Town – Two men attending a baptism ceremony reportedly drowned at Masetheko Dam in Limpopo on Sunday.
Reports said this was after four members of a Limpopo church fell into the dam during the ceremony.
One person managed to swim out of the dam while another, a woman, was rescued out of the dam, reported IOL.
“A pastor was reportedly busy conducting a baptismal ritual in the said dam when four people who were to be baptised fell into the dam. One of them managed to swim out, the other, a woman, was rescued and the remaining two drowned,” the report quoted Provincial spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi as saying.

Sowetan Live said the bodies were later retrieved by police search and rescue divers.
The drowning victims were identified as 21-year-old Elvis Ramakgaphola and 29-year-old Michael Rampa, the report said.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe warned congregants to be vigilant around dams and rivers, as the incident came a week after a pastor and a church member drowned during a baptism in Mogol River in Lephalale.
Police were investigating two cases of inquests.
