Cape Town – South African hip-hop artist and lyricist, Tumi ‘Stogie T’ Molekane, has been selected as one of the judges for the prestigious Caine Prize for African Writing.
The announcement was made via Molekane’s Instagram, where the artist expressed his profound honour to be part of the judging panel for this year’s competition.
In his Instagram post, Molekane shared his excitement.”I am deeply honoured to be a part of the judging panel for the Caine prize for African writing. The short story bares a salient likeness to musical storytelling for me[…]It’s exciting stuff. I look forward to encountering all the enriching magic from the entries.”

The Caine Prize for African Writing,is an annual accolade celebrating outstanding short stories by African writers published in English. With the five shortlisted stories and their authors set to be announced in mid-July. The winner will be honoured at an award ceremony scheduled for September.
