Cape Town – A fan of the terminally ill veteran radio and television personality Jeremy Mansfield tried to gain access to the legend who is currently in palliative care, battling stage 4 cancer.
Last week, messages of support flooded the radio legend’s Facebook page after he announced that his cancer had become terminal and was now only subject to palliative care.
“Have had it confirmed by the specialist surgeon that is leading everyone in the team looking after me that my cancer is confirmed stage 4, terminal and is now only subject to palliative care. This dream team (as I now refer to them) will now guide me through how to have as much fun in the time I have left and fulfill as many dreams, big and small, I have in my bucketlist. A new journey for Kari and the rest of our families starts today,” he wrote on his page.
Touched by the legend’s health update, an unknown fan went the extra mile to try and deliver his heartfelt message and well wishes in person.
According to author Samantha Cowen, the fan allegedly posed as Mansfield’s brother and tried to see him.
“Please don’t go to the hospital randomly and pretend you are Jeremy’s brother and ask to see him. Yes, this happened today. Yes really.
“In other happier news he is resting comfortably and we are hoping for him to have a peaceful and loving birthday weekend,” wrote Samantha on her Facebook page.
Mansfield survived his battle with leukaemia after nine months of treatment, TimesLIVE, reported.
He revealed his liver cancer diagnosis in January this year.
