Cape Town – Jerusalema, a South African-made hit song that became a global anthem, has reached half a billion views, and South African musician MasterKG and featured singer Nomcebo Zikode are over the moon with excitement.
The two shared their excitement about the news with their followers on Instagram earlier this week.
The Limpopo-born hitmaker, shared a screenshot of the milestone on his Instagram and wrote: “It was all a dream!!! Half a billion is here.”
He was further quoted by TimesLive saying: “I am indebted to the fans around the world who continue to show Jerusalema so much love. I never thought one day we would be sitting at half a billion views on YouTube for Jerusalema, but here we are. It was all a dream. My heart is full of gratitude and I’m inspired to create more and keep flying the SA flag high,”

Nomcebo, on the other hand, said she was amazed by the growth of the song.
“500 Million views. The growth of this song still amazes me till this day. I’ve travelled to so many countries where it’s still being played like it was released last week! We thank God,” wrote Nomcebo.
