Cape Town – Former Miss SA and radio presenter Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni is hanging up her earphones at Jacaranda FM after seven years at the station.
Liesl shared the news with her followers on her Instagram page on Tuesday.
“Last show this Thursday,” she wrote.
Liesl also shared part of the station’s statement about her departure.
“Liesl started her journey at Jacaranda FM in 2016 shortly after completing her reign as Miss SA 2015 and ends her exciting chapter at Jacaranda FM as part of the award-winning and much loved “Breakfast with Martin Bester” team. The team won the South African Radio Award for Best Breakfast Show on a commercial station last year,” read the statement.

The station’s programme manager, Hennie Myburgh said: “Mid-year is the regular point for contract renewal in our business cycle, we spoke with Liesl about our collective priorities and made a decision to close this chapter together.”
Liesl said she was going to miss the morning family, her co-host Martin and the team.
“I’m so thankful for this experience and to have grown in a medium I have so much love and respect for,” said Liesl Laurie.
Media personalities, Zizo Tshwete, Andile Ncube, Tracy Lang and fans wished her well.
