Cape Town – Fans of Uyanda Hlangabezo, the runner-up of Big Brother Mzansi season 5, have launched a campaign to raise R2 million for him, matching the prize of the winner, Sweet Guluva.
Although Hlangabezo finished second, his fans are determined to reward his perseverance and courage throughout the show.
The fundraising initiative, led by Mandisi Tshingana, has already raised over R250,000.
During his time in the Big Brother house, Uyanda shared a heartfelt diary entry in which he revealed that if he had won the show, he planned to use his winnings to fund school transport in the Eastern Cape.
Oh Uyanda is so passionate about education. Children travelling 15k’s to school barefoot is something he wishes to change. I can’t wait to see him change lives 🙏🏾☺️ #BBMzansi
