Cape Town – Various parts of Johannesburg have been left without water for days due to constrained reservoirs and towers.
Johannesburg Water has issued water cut warnings on its social media platforms, saying that it was monitoring the reservoirs and towers.
In a statement, it requested community members to continue reducing consumption and only use water for people and households only.
“Customers in higher lying areas will experience no water/poor pressure. Alternate supply is arranged for sensitive customers, such as hospitals, and customers in higher lying areas,” Johannesburg Water said.

It said that a power interruption at Rand Water’s Eikenhof pump station had also resulted in reduced supply to the Commando system (Brixton, Crosby and Hursthill). However, the supply at this system should improve with the restoration of power, it said.
Residents took to social media to express their frustration of having to deal with load shedding and water at the same time.
Others claimed to have been without water for three to four days.
