Cape Town – A 42-year-old man was reportedly shot and killed in his home in Hillcrest, Durban in the early hours of Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 03:30 in a complex on Stockville Road, IOL reported.
The victim was in his dining room when he was attacked.
His stepson heard the commotion and the sound of gunshots, prompting him to hide in a bedroom wardrobe.
The stepson later learned that the suspects had also kidnapped his mother.
The wife was found unharmed after being dumped on the side of the road in Kwadabeka, where she sought help from a resident and was taken to the local police station, the report said.

The robbery appeared to be targeted, as nothing was stolen from the house.
Early this year, the grandmother of a three-year-old girl Sadie Govender, who died in a drive-by shooting in Bonela, Durban was left devastated following the incident.
Sadie and a 68-year-old relative were killed while seated in the lounge of their home, after three gunmen emerged from the front entrance and opened fire.
“The child was shot in the stomach and the man was shot multiple times. They were taken to King Dinuzulu Hospital for treatment but later died,” a report said at the time.
