Cape Town – Limpopo police reportedly arrested a 27-year-old man after he allegedly raped his 7-year-old daughter at their family home in Majeje village.
Reports said that the mother of the girl, witnessed her husband rape their daughter and when she confronted him, he assaulted her.
The incident took place on June 15 before it was reported to police on June 16, reports said.
According to Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Mojapelo, the suspect, his wife and their two minor children were sleeping in the same room when the mother woke up to discover her husband was not in bed with her, reported IOL.

“She shockingly realised that her husband was raping their seven-year-old daughter and immediately confronted him. The suspect retaliated by assaulting her,” the report quoted Mojapelo as saying.
A report by Review Online said that the girl had been suffering the rape by his father since February, however, no reports were made.
The case was transferred to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit, and the suspect was arrested shortly after by members of the Community Service Centre on patrol, the report said.

Provincial Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the officers who arrested the man and put an end to the little girl’s suffering, reported The South African.
Lieutenant General Hadebe also urged community members to protect their children by reporting such incidents.
The 27-year-old suspect was set to appear at Lulekani Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
