Cape Town — Police are probing the death of five men who were involved in a mass shooting in Mfuleni this past weekend.
In a statement, police received information from the scene where Mfuleni police were called to the Madikizela informal settlement on Sunday afternoon where they found the bodies of the five men riddled with gunshot wounds. It is believed the men are around the ages of 19 and 30.
“The motive for the shooting is the subject of a police investigation currently undertaken by the provincial serious violent crimes investigators. No arrests have been effected yet. Mfuleni police have opened a murder docket for investigation,” police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa, said.
Police have called on anyone with information linked to the incident that could lead to the perpetrators’ arrest to step forward.
