Cape Town – Renowned radio presenter DJ Fresh recently opened up about his recent relationship and the challenges he’s faced since the breakup.
In an interview with radio presenter Lula Odiba, DJ Fresh candidly discussed how the end of his latest relationship left him feeling uneasy.
While he didn’t disclose the identity of his former partner, DJ Fresh said that the breakup was particularly daunting for him.
For the first time since the age of 14, he found himself unattached and single. Fresh revealed that this transition was unsettling, especially considering his continuous involvement in relationships throughout his life.
He admitted that the past six weeks have been both exhilarating and frightening, as he navigated a new reality without the constant need to be accountable to someone else.
“From the age of 14 until now, I’ve been in a relationship back-to-back. Literally it ends, and I move onto the next one. So, the thing that scares me is that I’ve never had an opportunity not to be in a relationship.
“The last 6-weeks for me have been the most exciting and scariest time of my life because I don’t know it. I don’t know not having to account to someone.
“So, the last 6-weeks have been scary where it’s you and your thoughts. You wake up next to yourself, and I think what makes it scarier is that I broke up with someone that I genuinely believe I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
“And I still believe that’s the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, but because things happened the way they did, and I’m not going to even point fingers because I think we both f**ked up.
“So, I think choosing that I don’t want to be in a relationship for now, is probably the scariest thing I’ve decided for myself in a while,” he said
