Cape Town – Media personality Nomuzi Mabena has confirmed on her Instagram story that she is safe, addressing concerns stemming from warnings issued by Mauritian officials regarding tropical storm Belal on the island.
According to The Citizen, Nomuzi reassured, saying,: “I am well and safe at the hotel. I came to Mauritius for a holiday with friends, taking time to enjoy a break from work.”
While unable to provide extensive details due to the circumstances, Nomuzi directed the publication to contact her publicist.
Mauritius heightened its cyclone warning to the maximum level on Tuesday, urging residents to remain indoors. However, the island nation reported that tropical storm Belal was moving away from its vicinity.
The Mauritius Meteorological Service (MMS) informed the public that gusts of wind, reaching up to approximately 120 kilometers (74 miles) per hour, were battering the remote island, according to a statement reported by Barron’s.
Nomuzi’s publicist, Kim Sineke, shared additional insights with The Citizen, stating, “Nomuzi is in Mauritius, enjoying a well-deserved break on holiday with close friends. Yes, as seen on her social media pages ,Cyclone Belal hit Mauritius during her vacation. But Nomuzi is thankfully safe and unharmed, along with the entire travel party.”
